The Redland

There are one or two acid loving species still surviving on the redland but most of the typical acid flora has gone. The rarest is mouse tail (Myosurus minimus) which is rare nationally but relatively common in Cottenham. Other survivors of the acid flora include corn marigold (Chrysanthemum segetum) and creeping soft grass (Holcus mollis) both relatively rare in Cambridgeshire.
